Forgiveness is an invitation to life versus death. Each day that we hold tightly onto unforgiveness is essentially a day that we live in death as we aren’t living free and free indeed. We hold ourselves hostage to unforgiveness by not addressing it. We are then enslaved and captive to it. The bondage may initially be invisible to us but it covertly masks itself and spreads like a disease infiltrating the fullness of our lives. Unforgiveness is suffocating and the person in need of resuscitation is not the one that we hold the unforgiveness towards but actually ourselves. One of the greatest gifts to give ourselves and others is forgiveness which is a demonstration of love.
